Captain Romero: Captain

The group bed down in Courtney's cabin, exhausted from the nights events, when they hear a scream. More screams follow and then shouting. Derek looks out the door and sees a group of people gathered around a cabin further down the corridor and more people rushing to the scene. He shuts the door. More shouting follows, and then running footsteps and gunshots. After it quiets down, Derek and Petra go out into the hallway. They see a small amount of blood spatter and a group of security guards standing around a body. They investigate the room where they had seen the commotion going on but find little but obvious evidence of a fight.

Derek approaches the security guards and tries to pump them for information but instead starts an argument about the groups possession of a security radio. The guards try to search the room, the group complains and are invited to speak to the security chief, Kirkman. The group are taken up to the security area and see obvious signs of emergency. Bob takes Roman to the Infirmary. Saul extracts some information from a waiting guard and then the group is allowed in to see Kirkman. While they are arguing with him, Forthington, the owner of the ship, enters Kirkman's office and dresses him down for attempting to call the coast guard. Kirkman gets emotional and tries to convince Forthington that he doesn't have the man power to deal with the situation. Forthington disagrees and tells Kirkman to get on with the job for which he is so handsomely paid. Forthington leaves and Kirkmans gets a call on the radio telling him the Infirmary is being over-run. Kirkman hands a gun each to Derek and Saul, implies that he knows that they can use them and runs from his office. The group follows him, except for Courtney and Naomi, who return to Courtney's room.

When the lift doors open the group sees a zombie devouring a corpse on the floor and Bob and Roman defending themselves from two more. Further down the corridor more zombies appear from the Infirmary. Those with guns start shooting, with Saul finally successfully taking out the zombie in front of the lift. This seems to break the groups bad luck and they dispatch a dozen more zombies with little effort. Debbie raids a bar and then helps three passengers into the lift. Bob enters the fray but is terrified by a zombie moan and leaves via the stairs. Petra ensures that no-one is watching and then beheads a corpse on the floor then rifles through it's pockets. The group re-enters the lift, pausing for a brief scuffle with Roman over possession of an axe. The lift doors close, leaving Kirkman and two security guards behind. Arriving back on the security level, Derek is co-opted into working in the new infirmary set up in the security mess hall.

Kirkman and one security guard re-appear on the security level. Kirkman provides radios to Debbie and Petra, another clip of ammo for Saul and Derek and then introduces the team to O'Neal, a ships engineer. There is an issue in the ships engine room and Kirkman wants the group to accompany O'Neal and investigate. The group re-enters the lift and travels to the lowest floor. The group steps out into the huge ship's engine room and the lights immediately go out.

In game time it is 7am, Thursday 12th of January.
